How Important Are Teeth?
posted: Oct 15, 2018.
We all know that brushing, flossing, and mouthwash use are important to keeping our teeth in good shape. We all take two trips a year to see Dr. Sohrab Saghezchi at Mill Valley Dental in Mill Valley, California, to make sure our teeth are free of cavities, and the rest of our mouth as healthy as possible.
But why do we spend so much time on our teeth? Are they really that important?
The short answer is yes, but let’s look at that in greater detail.
More than just for eating
Your teeth have more of an impact on your life than simply helping you eat hard foods. In fact, without teeth – and even if you’re missing a few teeth you may notice some of these similar symptoms – you’ll have a harder time speaking and staying healthy. Teeth which are free of any problems like chips, fractures, or infections will be much more effective at helping you speak with confidence and keeping your systemic health in check.
Indicator of overall health
If your teeth are healthy, there’s a really high chance that the rest of your body is healthy as well. Your teeth – and to a greater extent, your entire mouth – is a great indicator for the health of the rest of your body. Keeping your teeth healthy ensures the rest of you is operating at top-notch.
