A Bridge Can Be Mounted to a Pair of Dental Implants to Replace Multiple Missing Teeth

Athletes participating in contact sports are often required to use a mouth guard during practices and games. Yet some will forgo this necessary protective measure, claiming the unit feels uncomfortable or hinders breathing. Should you take this dangerous risk, you are in serious danger of suffering multiple knocked-out teeth in one area of your mouth.

Sometimes a removable partial can replace the basic function and appearance of the missing teeth. However, many people feel that this simply doesn’t replicate the same strength and feel or the original teeth. It can also come with increased irritation of the gums if food particles frequently invade the base of the partial.

For a more permanent dental restoration, Dr. Sohrab Saghezchi can install a bridge mounted to a pair of dental implants at his Mill Valley, California clinic. These are essentially two abutments made from titanium that Dr. Sohrab Saghezchi surgically inserted into the underlying bone structure in that area of your mouth.

The two implants can be installed in a single outpatient appointment, where you will need to be deeply sedated. A friend or family member will need to drive you home after the procedure while the sedative effect dissipates.

The two titanium abutments will gradually bond with the surrounding bone tissues to create firm anchor points. Once this has been achieved we will take an impression of the area to start the process of fitting you for a standard bridge.

If you live in the Mill Valley, California area and you’ve lost multiple teeth, you should call 415-578-5879 to explore your restoration options with Dr. Sohrab Saghezchi.
